You maybe redecorating your living room right now and so you are contemplating on buying new furniture to create the effect that you want to have. However, with the looming financial crisis, it is not too practical to just discard old chairs and buy a new set. There are ways to get the new look that you wanted to have and still have it within your reach. This can be done by recovering your old and worn out chairs.
Of course we are not talking about your bulky and overstuffed couch here; that is something that is rather hard to recover on your own. But you can tackle those living room desk chairs and dining room chairs on your own. You only need to follow these steps:
Wooden Swivel Stool
• Take the chair's seat off by flipping the chair upside down and carefully studying how the seat was attached to the chair. The usual attachment though is through four screws on each of the corner of the seat. You can easily take these out.
• You can then either get rid of the whole upholstery and start over or just cover the old one with a new foam or fabric. If the old fabric isn't really ripped off or stained or foul-smelling then it is much easier to just cover it with a new one.
• Be very thorough with your choice of fabric. You don't really need to find the exact and the same old fabric that was used for your chair, but be very realistic with your choice - surely you wouldn't want to sit on a delicate lace; that is just outrageous. Male sure that your measurements are correct and that you leave enough room for adjustments before you cut out the fabric. Wrap it then on the seat and staple it firmly on the back. You can now return the seat to its normal position on the chair.
Giving your old chair a fresh new look is really easy. It's not like you are ripping off your leather office chair and replace it with a brand new skin. We are talking about less complicated chairs here that you can improve by yourself without the help of expensive professionals.
